Opening message/ Introduction

A continent filled with poverty, starving people, disease, corruption, despots, land ravaged by war,....virtually everything negative is usually attributed to Africa. Very little is known about the great continent, her people, cultures, history and most importantly, the achievements and contributions of her citizens both locally and internationally.

The world's largest continent, home to over a billion people, thousands of tribes, rich diverse cultures, the cradle of humanity has a lot to offer. From its scenic landscape and epic waterfalls,

 



Its incredible wildlife,

The diversity of her people, rich cultures , hypnotic music ( from Afrobeat, Highlife to Soukous), the mystics and spirituality, long and tremendous history and some of her famous sons and daughters. Africa indeed is in a league of her own.

It is always very difficult to write a befitting introduction to any blog, let alone one focusing on pop culture from Africa and Africans abroad. I'm no journalist, neither do I claim to be the all knowing African guru. I just have a very strong interest in celebrating, promoting and sharing everything I enjoy about being African. The music, food, fashion, arts, theatre, film intellectual discourse, etc...feeds my soul..(LOL). From shores of Cape Verde to mountains of Tanzania, there's much to explore.

Contributions are most welcome and constructive criticism is appreciated...(operative word being positive), anything to promote our achievements.
